Rumors had been circulating on a new refresh for the 3DS and Mr. Iwata confirmed them today during the Nintendo Direct stream. A new slimmer yet bigger system is on the way in the form of the Nintendo 3DS LL. It will offer a 4.88 inch top screen, a 4.18 inch bottom touch-screen and comes with a 4gb SD card as well as a slightly longer battery life.
The new 3DS LL will release in Japan on July 28 for ¥18,900 ($253). We’ll surly hear more about a US release and price in a few minutes.
(UPDATE) Dubbed the NIntendo 3DS XL here in the US, the system will go on sale on August 19th, the same day New Super Mario Bros. 2 launches, for a SMRP $199.99.
